Gliding across the frozen water, the steel of my blades transmits every imperfection through my body. It is nothing like the smooth ice of a rink, but it still draws us to it. It is nowhere as close to better sibling that we normal use. But for some unknown reason the feeling you get of going back to the roots of the game and playing it like we once did is unmatched. Skating on a pond is not perfect but there are some things about it that make it enjoyable compared to skating on an ice rink. Yes, it is more bumpy and there are no boards but when it is like this we all realize that we are not there to play the most intense game so instead we just have fun with it. We fool around and try to dangle through everybody because it is our time to get away from the pressure of a game and try new things that we would never do it a game but rather for fun. Remember when I said yesterday that I would do something, while I did. I broke the spell of the lazy snow days.
